rehabLooking for addiction treatment or mental health care can reveal sensitive information, even if you never send a medical record. This notice explains our handling of health-related information and supplements our Privacy Policy. Rehab.ai is a care directory, not a healthcare provider.
Information and sources
Information you enter may include treatment searches, location preferences, optional AI-chat questions and recent messages, and health-related details you choose to include in a form or correspondence. Browser-stored saved centers and optional recent searches can also reflect care interests. Requests to our hosting service include URLs and technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, and time; a URL may reveal a treatment interest. Our separate listing counters store random event identifiers, listing paths, actions, and time without visitor names or IP addresses in those event records.
Sources are you, your browser and device, your interactions with the service, and the public directory record selected as context for an optional AI-chat question. Public provider information does not establish that any visitor has a condition or received treatment. We do not request medical records or precise GPS location.
Purposes and recipients
We process information to deliver pages and searches you request, answer an optional AI-chat question, respond to a submission, protect the service, and maintain the directory. Hosting, database, delivery, security, and communications service providers process the relevant information to operate those functions. If you use AI care chat, OpenAI receives your question, recent messages, and selected public listing context. The care-chat application does not save message contents to its database, but that does not mean our service providers have zero retention. See AI-chat processing.
We do not sell consumer health data or share it for advertising, and providers cannot buy treatment inquiries. We do not share it with affiliates for their independent marketing. Information may also be disclosed at your specific direction, when required by law, for legally permitted protection of rights and safety, or in a business transfer subject to the protections described in our Privacy Policy. We obtain consent where required before collecting or sharing information beyond what is necessary to provide a service you request or otherwise permitted by law.
Clicking a provider website or phone link contacts that independent provider through your browser or device. The destination may receive technical or caller information and Rehab.ai referral parameters; its own privacy practices apply. Following a link does not authorize us to send it your private forms, saved centers, or chat messages.
Your choices
You can browse without an account and choose not to use AI chat or submit a form. Clear local saved centers and search history through their controls or your browser settings. Google Analytics is off by default and excluded from care, search, and account pages. Our listing counters honor detected Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals. Necessary hosting and security processing is separate.
Email contact@rehab.ai to request access, deletion, correction, or withdrawal of consent, or to ask whether we collect or share consumer health data about you. Use the subject “Health data privacy request” if helpful. You do not need to create an account or include medical records. We may request proportionate information to authenticate a request. Withdrawing consent does not reverse prior lawful processing.
Washington rights and appeals
Where Washington’s My Health My Data Act applies, you may confirm collection, sharing, or sale; access your consumer health data and a list of third parties and affiliates with whom it was shared, with contact information; withdraw consent to collection and sharing; and request deletion. We respond without undue delay and within 45 days, with one additional 45-day extension when permitted and explained within the initial period.
To appeal a refusal, reply to the decision or email the same address with “Privacy appeal.” We explain the appeal decision in writing within 45 days. If denied, you may submit a complaint to the Washington Attorney General. For covered deletion requests, we notify relevant recipients and processors as required; deletion from backups or archives must occur within the applicable legal limit, including the Act’s six-month maximum after authentication. Rights elsewhere remain available under applicable law.
Retention and contact
We limit retention to the stated purpose and applicable legal requirements. Different records have different schedules; see retention details. A local clear-history action does not delete server or provider records already processed. We will explain a lawful limitation on a deletion request rather than promise deletion we cannot perform.
